At Frodsham Weaver Vale Primary School, all children are encouraged to engage with our Music curriculum through lasting experiences that including: listening, composing and performing. Music lessons across the school aim to inspire children to develop a love of music and develop their talents.

Children at Frodsham Weaver Vale Primary School participate in singing, rhyming patterns and productions in Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. In Upper Key Stage 2, (usually Year 5), children have the opportunity to engage in learning a musical instrument which contributes positively to interaction, awareness of others and performance.

When our children engage with our Music curriculum, we aim to enable them to become enthusiastic, curious, independent, showcase teamwork skills, and gain knowledge about different musical genres and historical periods. Experimenting with different instruments is an experience every child will engage with every year.

“Music education opens doors that help children pass from school into the world around them – a world of work, culture, intellectual activity, and human involvement. The future of our nation depends on providing our children with a complete education that includes music.” - Gerald Ford
