Welcome Back
After the long summer break, it is lovely to see you all back in our new year 5 and 6 class.
I hope you are all as excited as I am to be back in school and are looking forward to lots of new challenges and learning experiences this term, eager to work with your friends and full of enthusiasm for the next steps of your learning journey.
Getting in touch
I am at the gate most mornings and at the end of school (not Thursday).
Please remember that you can also email me on our class email address if you need to clarify or query anything.
I check my emails each week day throughout the day and I will endeavour to get back to you as soon as I can.
You can also call school on 01244 981115 and ask to leave a message for me to call you back
Our class email is below.

Useful Information
P.E
Our P.E this half term is swimming and dance
Swimming begins on Tuesday afternoon 21st September. You will be sent a letter by 10th September with all the details you need.
You will need to have your full P.E kits with you in school each Tuesday and Friday until we begin our swimming lessons - please remember your pumps or trainers too.
Water Bottles and Snack
Please ensure that you bring a water bottle each day so that you can access fresh water.
We are now also selling snack again each morning break if you wish your child to purchase toast and a drink.
Your child can also bring in their own healthy snack and we usually have fruit available for free.
Homework
Please visit the tab at the top of the page for full details. Homework will be set on a Friday. There is the expectation that this is completed by all children. Children should be visiting their Spellzone page as part of their homework at least 2x weekly.
Reading
Please visit the tab at the top of the page for full details
You should see your child bringing home a book each day along with their reading diary - although they may choose to read a book from home as well or instead. The expectation is that your child reads frequently at home and records their thoughts and progress through their, books in their diary. Please add your comments to it too and sign it at least a couple of times weekly, when your child has read. At year 5 and 6 this may be to themselves, but children at this age still love to share a book.
Our learning day begins at 9:00am when register is taken so children need to be at school by 8:55 am. They can arrive at 8:45 am which will allow them chance to chat with friends and organise themselves for the day ahead.
Break and snack are from 11:45 am to 11:10 am.
Lunch is at 12:15 pm until 1:15pm
School finishes at 3:15 pm when your child should be collected at the school gate. If you wish you child to walk home you need to inform me or the school office.
